Joseph J. Costigan, CFA has over two decades of experience as a financial analyst, trader, and institutional portfolio manager. Most recently, he was Director of Research at Verity Investment Partners, where he was responsible for developing the firm’s equity investment process. Prior to Verity, Joe was Director of Research at Bryn Mawr Trust Company, a $5 billion asset manager, where he led the firm’s equity strategies, chaired the equity research group, and managed equity trading, portfolio delivery, and performance reporting.
Joe’s equity investment philosophy is to identify businesses with consistent competitive advantages and shareholder-friendly practices and to invest when valuations are compelling. In Joe’s view, competitive execution and valuation discipline are the keys to investing successfully over the long term.
Joe received his Bachelor of Science degree in business with a concentration in finance from Elizabethtown College and his MBA, also with a concentration in finance, from Pennsylvania State University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a post-graduate professional qualification awarded by the CFA Institute.
